Holy Trinity Church

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

I’ve recently been doing a site for a very old church in York called Holy Trinity which is no longer used as a church but is conserved by The Churches Conversation Trust where it gets around 50,000 visitors a year. They were keen to develop a site to give more information and pictures than what was currently available on the trust’s website. The new site is a at www.yorkholytrinity.org.uk. All the photography on the site was done with my new camera, the Canon Eos350. Below are some of the pictures:

Toy Town University

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

I recently came across this effect whist stumbling. It’s very simple to set up and I love the results. It uses the lens blur filter found with Photoshop CS. Here’s how it’s done:

  • Press Q to go into quick mask mode
  • Select gradient with a ‘reflected gradient’ style and draw a vertical line from the center of the photo.
  • Press Q again to return to the normal mode.
  • go to filters > blur > lens blur.
  • Play about to get the perfect picture and enjoy!
  • You can also adjust the saturation to make it a bit more colourful.

So here is The University Of York - toy town style:
